If you’re looking for waterfront views, Grand Oaks RV Resort lies in a setting that fits the bill perfectly. In addition to swimming and fishing, you can have a good time at this month's park activities that include a pancake breakfast and cruise along with Christmas in July and a dance with a live band.
On July 15 and 16, CayugaFest will be held along the banks of the Grand River. Country entertainment is on the agenda for Friday night, and a soapbox derby, breakfast at Cayuga Fire Hall and parade is scheduled for Saturday morning. Following the parade, a Kids’ Zone will be open for children, while food and crafts vendors will display their goods. Fans of classic autos will especially enjoy the Grand Car Show at noon.
Called a hidden gem, the Twisted Lemon is a quaint restaurant in Cayuga with the most delicious food. The ambience is relaxed and elegant, so it’s a good place for a special leisurely meal. Try the hammered sandwich, steak frites or grilled vegetable salad.
Grand River Scenic Parkway
When you want to explore the community, get on Highway 54 North, a stretch of road called the Grand River Scenic Parkway. The drive to Brantford is quite rewarding, as it winds through picturesque farm country and an array of interesting sights. Stop in the town of Caledonia long enough to walk around the downtown area and grab a butter tart from Jones Bakery. The parkway will also pass Six Nations of the Grand territories, so you’ll have the opportunity to pick up some native art.
