As the community embraces the advent of Christmas in the coming days, the desert will be aglow with a host of twinkling lights. Their illumination will bring holiday cheer and beauty to the entire Coachella Valley.
Beginning November 23 and continuing on selected nights through December 24, The Living Desert in the town of Palm Desert will host the annual Wildlights display. The festivity includes live music, rides and crafts, along with hundreds of thousands of lights that transform the attraction into a winter wonderland. Admission is $10, and hours are from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
On December 1, a tree lighting will be held at Frances Stevens Park in Palm Springs. While you admire the glowing tree, you can listen to caroling and holiday music as well as enjoy complimentary cookies and hot chocolate. The event starts at 5:15, and admission is free.
Festival of Lights Parade
Gather with the locals on December 3 to watch the Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade. The procession of colorfully decorated floats, marching bands and performing groups is one of the most loved Christmas traditions in the Coachella Valley. It kicks off at 5:45 p.m.
