When you stay at Lafontaine RV Resort, you’ll find many pleasures in Penetanguishene and nearby Midland, such as the Urban Slide along with festivities like Pirates of the Bay and TugFest. Here is what you can expect in the coming weeks.
On July 30 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., the Urban Slide will be in town. The attraction offers 1,000 feet of slippery water fun, which is an awesome way to cool off on a summer day.
Another Penetanguishene happening on July 30 is Pirates of the Bay, a celebration that will involve live music, food, crafts, shipwreck displays, pirate games and face painting. It will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Rotary Champlain Wendat Park.
The Penetanguishene Centennial Museum will feature a week of pirate activities from July 25 to July 30. These will include crafts as well as treasure hunts for small prizes.
Main Street will be the scene of the Cupcake Festival on July 22 and 23. You won’t be able to resist these delicious confections.
On August 19 and 20, head over to the Midland Habour for TugFest, a gala weekend of tugboat races, on-the-water demonstrations, craft vendors and a parade of lights. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
When the sun goes down in Ontario, the temperature is just right for outdoor entertainment.
- Join the locals in listening to live music at the Midland Town Dock on Tuesday nights and at Little Lake Park on Sunday nights. Hours are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Watch a movie under the stars in downtown Midland every other Wednesday night. The schedule includes Finding Nemo on July 27, Frozen (Sing-a-Long) on August 10 and Jurassic World on August 24. The show starts at dusk. Please bring a lawn chair.
