Arran Lake RV Resort is now open for the season, offering campers a great place to engage in sporting activities on the water as well as on land. We also suggest visiting the Southampton Boardwalk and attending a festival in Owen Sound.
Have you ever seen a sunset on Lake Huron? Some of the locals who come to the Southampton Boardwalk several times a week believe it’s the best vantage point for savoring nature’s nightly magnificent display in the sky. You can sit on one of the benches to watch. On Friday evening, it’s extra special because a bagpiper strolls by playing the haunting music of the old country.
Yet the spot is also enjoyable in the daytime, as it’s quite peaceful and offers a beautiful view of the lake, along with Chantry Island and the Imperial Lighthouse. The trail runs from the downtown Southampton Flag to Gerry’s Fries. Whether you come during the day or at sunset, you’re sure to find the area most relaxing.
Grey Bruce One World Festival
On May 18, the 2017 One World Festival will be held in Owen Sound. A celebration of the rich cultural diversity in Bruce and Grey Counties, the event will include performances by local singers, dancers, puppeteers and storytellers. Children’s activities will be available as well. Hours are between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., and the location is along First Avenue West. Admission is free.
