Seasonal Festivities in Austin

Christmas in Austin is hard to beat, as the city’s calendar of events is packed with wonderful festivities. Make plans now to stay at Austin Lone Star RV Resort during this glorious season.

Winter Wonderland – Circuit of the Americas

The Circuit of the Americans will host Winter Wonderland On December 1 and 2, as well as December 8 through 30. A general admission fee of $16 will gain you entrance to the tunnel of lights, singing trees, petting zoo, vendor village and much more. An additional fee is required for special activities such as ice skating, carnival rides and camel rides.

It’s open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays through Thursdays and from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Trail of Lights in Zilker Park

Attracting more than 400,000 people every year, Austin’s Trail of Lights has received national accolades. It transforms Zilker Park into a holiday fantasy of more than 2 million lights and 40 displays. Live music and food are part of the event. It runs between December 9 and 23, and gates open at 7 p.m. each evening.

Admission is free on seven of the 14 nights, including the grand opening on December 9. General admission for children under 12 is free on all nights. Tickets may be purchased online.

Armadillo Christmas Bazaar

Part of the fun of this time of year involves shopping at markets that feature creative handmade items. The Armadillo Christmas Bazaar, a local holiday tradition, will feature 175 artists selling gifts, stocking stuffers, fine art and heirloom pieces. Yet the event is much more than a bazaar: it also includes live music and food.

It will be held on December 14 to 24 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. A single-day pass is $8. The location is the Palmer Events Center at 900 Barton Springs Road.
