By Mary West

San Antonio has so much to offer, as visitors can enjoy the fun of the zoo, the tranquility of the Japanese Gardens, the excitement of the Riverwalk and the enlightenment of historical attractions. You can experience all this and more when you stay at Blazing Star RV Resort.

San Antonio Zoo

A trip to the San Antonio Zoo is pure pleasure, as it involves seeing an array of exhibits such as Africa Live, Friedrich Aquarium, Reptile House, Toadally and a petting area called the Fun Farm. A ride on the Zoo Train and Zoo Carousel will delight the hearts of children. With an additional fee, you can have special animal encounters that include feeding lettuce to giraffes, feeding nectar to gorgeous lorikeets and interacting with a white rhino or tortoise.

Fun-day tickets, which include general admission, a train ride and a carousel ride, may be purchased for $17.99 to $20.99. The address is 3903 N. Saint Mary’s St.

Japanese Tea Gardens

Expect to enter a realm of tranquility when you visit the Japanese Tea Gardens. A walk through the area will take you by beautiful ponds, plants, flowers, rocks and a waterfall. The onsite restaurant, Jingo House, is a nice place to enjoy a cup of tea and a meal.

It’s open every day and admission is free. The address is 3800 N Saint Mary’s St., which is close to the zoo.
