Marilyn here, still living the dream with Bob at Ocean Breeze Resort. We've continued to exercise our "Park & Play" options, and we are loving it--if you are looking for fun and flexibility, this is the place for you!
We are getting pretty excited at the progress being made on the new pool and lifestyle center--almost 5,000 square feet that will include a fitness center and both dry and steam saunas. Can't wait to give it all a whirl when it is completed! It will just add to the many conveniences we already enjoy...for example, our kids, grandchildren, and grand-dogs may be coming to town for the 4th, so we are so thankful for the pet washing station and dog park. At least the furry kids will be clean and sand-free when they come back after a day on the beach!
Bob and I have also been partaking in a few of the resort's Whatever Wednesdays--social hour under the gazebo by the horseshoe and bocce ball courts. It is a great way to meet our neighbors without anyone having host/hostess duty, and a fun place to take our friends to mingle when they visit, so they can see just how great this place is. Bob wants to hit the Monday bowling event held at Jensen Beach Bowling Alley (every Monday, $8 will get you 3 games and shoe rental if you need a pair). He’s had a hankering for hearing the crash of some pins. I, however, prefer the crash of the surf, and the breeze in the palm trees...but I may join him for a frame or two, just to keep my form up.
This month's out-of-park adventure was to Stuart's Rockin' Riverwalk. We were pleasantly surprised to find out it is a year-round event, with a wide variety of musical styles. In June alone they had blues, reggae/jam, swing (my personal favorite), and country--next month, they are having funk rock, dance music for the 4th of July (prior to the fireworks), alternative, Americana, an Eric Clapton tribute band, and jazz. It seems several of our Sundays from 1-4pm will be spent enjoying live music at the free, open air concerts.
Since Ocean Breeze Resort is so close to Stuart, we were there in no time and had several options for easy parking as there is a Sailfish Shuttle that runs from the following parks: Osceola, Sailfish, and Kiwanis. Such a welcome convenience--no playing "pole position" with other drivers for parking spaces when you know you can hop on a shuttle that is going straight to the action. Once we got to the Riverwalk Stage, I don't know which was more fabulous: the sky, the water, or the music! The spacious venue offers lots of seating options and a gorgeous view of the water, which made a stunning backdrop for the music. Bob and I stayed for quite a while, just soaking up the good tunes and lovely weather. When we were ready to go, we just grabbed the nearest shuttle and zipped right back to our car. We were back in the comfort of our home-away-from-home in short order.
Once again, we marvel at the how lucky we were to find this gem that is Ocean Breeze Resort...hope to see you around here soon (maybe around the pool!).
