Come to Riptide RV Resort in the beautiful Florida Keys, where you can enjoy fishing, boating and other water sports. When you’re in the mood for an outing, take in one of the delightful concerts or classic movie matinees offered in nearby Islamorada.
Pops in the Park
What is more American than an outdoor band concert? From November through April on one Saturday per month, the Florida Keys Community Concert Band presents Pops in the Park, a free hour of music. On February 25, the theme will be Creature Features, which will include The Phantom of the Opera and other spooky tunes. Songs about Florida and the tropics will be presented on March 25. Each concert begins with a Star Spangled Banner sing-a-along and ends with a rousing John Phillips Sousa march.
The music is played from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Bring a chair or blanket along with a snack. The location is the ICE Amphitheater at Founders Park in Islamorada.
Every Thursday afternoon, the Discovery Center in Islamorada presents a classic movie with stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood such as Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart. The films start at 2 p.m., and admission is $5. You'll find the center at 82100 Overseas Hwy. in Islamorada.
