A bird lovers’ paradise, Point Pelee National Park in Leamington is less than an hour’s drive from Willowood RV Resort in Amherstburg. The annual migration of the feathery creatures is at its peak, which means visitors to the area can expect to see many species per day.

Point Pelee is one of the most noted birding spots in North America. While the birds start arriving early in the spring, the peak is in late April and May when the songbirds make their way here. Much loved for their warbling, this variety is called the “butterflies of the bird world.” Visitors to the park can expect to hear the most incredible chorus of birdsong.

A trip to this attraction would make a most enjoyable day’s outing. Activities include hiking, biking and kayaking. A picnic would be nice as well. Food may be brought in, or snacks and ice cream may be purchased at the park entrance.
