Residents of Ellenton Gardens RV Resort enjoy fishing from the onsite pond, as well as hiking and biking through the park’s nature trails. Aside from engaging in campground activities, such as bingo and other games, they like to explore museums in nearby Sarasota. When the mood strikes for a picnic, they can choose from the areas below.

Gamble Plantation Historic State Park

A tour through the mansion at Gamble Plantation will take you back in time to the 1860s. The guide is so informative and engaging, he’ll make the history of the place come alive. Picnic tables are available in the park, so bring a lunch to enjoy in the lovely outdoor setting.

Admission to the park is free, while tour admission is $6 for adults and $4 for children. Tours are offered six times a day on Thursdays through Mondays. The address is 3708 Patten Avenue in Ellenton.

Fort Hamer Park

Only nine miles away, Fort Hamer Park is another nice area for a picnic. It also has a fishing pier and boat ramp. Open hours are from sunrise to sunset. The address is 1605 Ft. Hamer Road in Parrish.

Ellenton Gardens

Our RV park near St. Petersburg has facilities for playing darts, shuffleboard and horseshoes. Tampa is a 45-mile drive away, which makes it a convenient destination for day trips to visit attractions like Busch Gardens and the historic Tampa Theatre.

Please see our special offers. For information, call 941-722-0341 or send an email to ellentongardens@suncommunities.com. The address is 7310 US Hwy 301 N in Ellenton, FL.
