One of the perks of staying at Hidden Valley RV Resort is that it’s close to the Long Point Bird Observatory, which offers a close-up look at the world’s most beautiful feathery creatures.

The observatory is a haven for more than 175 bird species. A hike along the trails will take you through several habitats, including Long Point Bay, the abode of swans, geese and ducks.

From this spot, take the short drive to the lab at Old Cut, where birds are gently caught for the purpose of banding and identifying them. After the banding, the creatures are released back into nature. You’ll find the staff knowledgeable and friendly, so a visit here is highly recommended. It’s a must-see for anyone with even a remote interest in birds. The address is 115 Front Road in Port Rowan.

Long Point

Some people consider Long Point Beach to be the best in Ontario. The sand dunes and broad expanse of water, along with the serenity and quietude, make it a great place for a walk. It’s also a strategic spot for viewing birds and waterfowl. The address is 350 Erie Blvd in Port Rowan.
