Holiday celebrations in many parts of Florida involve sparkling boat parades that cast a festive glow across the waters. Residents of Pelican RV Resort can enjoy two such merry processions this season.

Marathon Christmas Events

  • 20th Annual Boot Key Harbor Lighted Christmas Boat Parade: On December 10, vessels ranging from dinghies to mega-yachts will parade down the harbor in lighted array. The best vantage spots to watch the event include Burdine's Waterfront, Marathon Marina, Lazy Days South and Dockside Tropical Café. It starts after sunset around 6 p.m.
  • Key Colony Beach Lighted Boat Parade: Decorated boats will again light up the harbor on December 11. The route begins at the 7th Street canal, and it passes City Hall three times. Good places to watch the parade include the part of the dock that lies in back of City Hall and the post office, as well as Sadowski Causeway at MM 53.5.
  • Annual Christmas Cantata: The Lower Keys Community Choir and the Keys Chamber Orchestra will present a beautiful concert on December 18. A highlight will be “Born a Savior, Born a King.” The performance starts at 7:30 p.m., and admission is free. It will be held in the San Pablo Catholic Church at 550 122nd St Ocean.

Key West New Year’s Eve Events

Several festivities in Key West will help you ring in the New Year. You can choose from Shoe Drop Celebration, Dachshund Walk, New Year’s Eve on the Pier, and New Year’s Eve at Schooner Wharf.
