The annual Kumquat Festival in Dade City presents an opportunity to experience the quaintness and fun of “old Florida.” As the town is only a short jaunt down the road from Southern Charm RV Resort, it will be convenient for our residents to attend.

Dade City is near St. Joseph, a municipality called “the Kumquat Capital of the World.” Its close proximity has led to the establishment of the festival that has become very popular, attracting 40,000 visitors each year. On January 28, join the fun that will include family-friendly entertainment, face painting and an antique car show, as well as arts and crafts vendors.

Have you ever eater kumquats? While they may be small in size, they are big in flavor. They are unique among citrus fruits because the peeling may be consumed along with the pulp. You’ll be able to taste all kinds of treats made with the delicious fruit, including pies, cookies, ice cream, smoothies, marmalades and salsa.

In addition to all the above, a farmers’ market and kids corral will be onsite. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is free. Don’t miss this quintessential Florida celebration. It should be most memorable.
