Come join us at Fort Tatham RV Resort for our July 4th festivities. We will have a barbeque of pulled pork, boiled corn and plenty of side dishes. Expect to have a great time visiting with your fellow campers while enjoying delicious food. The day’s plans also include a fishing tournament for kids, which involves being able to keep the fish that are caught.

Wonderful entertainment can be found in the community. In June, you can attend concerts by David Phelps and Mountain Voices; and in July, you won’t want to miss the Folkmoot Festival.

David Phelps Concert

A critically-acclaimed Gospel singer, David Phelps has performed at the White House and in churches across the country. On June 24 at 7:30 p.m., he will present a concert at the Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts. Phelps puts his heart and soul into each song and never fails to stir the hearts of people in the audience. Tickets are $22 to $25.

Mountain Voices Concert

On June 30 at 7 p.m., Mountain Voices will give a concert at the same venue. The community chorus will perform patriotic tunes and Gospel selections as well as take you on a musical journey across the nation. Tickets are $10.

Folkmoot Festival

Something very special coming up on July 21 to 31 is the Folkmoot Festival in Waynesville, North Carolina. The shindig is a grand celebration of the incredibly diverse ethnicities that populate our globe. Performances will showcase the cultures of Appalachian groups along with those of Romania, Finland, Mexico, Poland, Japan, France, Peru, the Dominican Republic and China. Attending the festival will be like taking a trip around the world.
