The Hugh Embry Library in Dade City is a wonderful resource for residents of Blue Jay RV Resort. It offers interesting lectures and entertainment, as well as a knitting club and book discussion group. Here is what is on the agenda for March.
If you’re an avid reader, one of your greatest pleasures comes from devouring a mystery, romance, historical novel or nonfiction book. On the second Friday and Saturday of each month, the library has a book bazaar, where you can pick up good bargains on every genre. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
It’s always fun to talk to others who share your love of reading. A book discussion group will be held at 2 p.m. on March 7 and 21. New members are welcome.
On the first and third Tuesdays of the month, the knitting club meets from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the library. Bring your supplies and a bag lunch. The get-togethers are good opportunities to pick up tips from fellow knitters and make new friends.
- On March 17 at 2 p.m., seniors can attend a movie that includes free popcorn.
- Fascinating stories about our country’s national parks will be presented at 1 p.m. on March 2.
- You won’t want to miss a concert of cowboy songs at 2 p.m. on March 30. The event will include jokes, stories and sing-a-longs.
