September 11, 2017

By Darren Arcaro

Thanksgiving, Football, Wine Country…it’s not the season to diet!

It’s that time of year again, Fall (Autumn), and although everyone loves to BBQ while camping here at Sherkston, there are so many yummy Fall recipes to experiment with, indulging in tasty ingredients such as apples, pears, brussel sprouts, pumpkin, squash, and warm hearty meats. Fall truly is the best time for grilling though; being able to stand by the hot fire with a cold bevie in-hand is more enjoyable in the crisp air.

Let’s not forget that Fall is football season, and it wouldn’t be football season without some hearty chili, warm casseroles, savoury chip dishes, and of course pizza. We can already see those eyes bugging out of your head and tongues hitting the floor.

And we can’t forget that the time of Thanksgiving is upon us, for both Canadians (October 9, 2017) and Americans (November 23, 2017) and the smells of turkeys roasting is to die for, but we will save those recipes for another time.

So let’s try and get you in that Fall feeling with some recipes that are sure to “kick-off” Fall the right way, and fill those bellies. And don’t worry, your secret if you decide to try out any of these ideas, is safe with us, and your friends don’t have to know we told you! Harvest Season truly is a wonderful time of year - Happy Cooking.
