Fishing on the Chesapeake Bay

July 14, 2017

By Mary West

Gwynn’s Island RV Resort & Campground could be considered a fishermen’s paradise, as it lies in a quaint boating town in the Chesapeake Bay. Anglers can engage in the sport from the 100-foot fishing pier or from a boat while feasting their eyes on the deep blue water and fabulous scenery.

You can expect to see rockfish in the fall and a variety of species, such as striped bass, in the spring. The only thing you need to bring is your fishing pole, as bait and tackle are sold at our convenience store. Imagine how good your freshly-caught fish will taste for supper!

Campers who have boats will have access to a dock, and those who desire to get out in the water but stay close to the shore can use the park’s paddle boards and paddle boats. The many water channels nearby are perfect for canoeing.

Our private beach’s peacefulness will lure you to spend days swimming, building sandcastles and looking for shells, as well as strolling past sand dunes and tall grasses. It’s also an unbeatable place for a picnic.

In addition to the above pursuits, the campground offers other activities. Outdoor sports include corn hole, horseshoes and bocce ball; and indoor pleasures involve crafts, karaoke and live entertainment. Children will love the playground area.

We invite you to our Chesapeake Bay RV park, where your family will make memories that will be long cherished. For information, visit our website. To make reservations, call (888) 723-2535. Please see our special offer. The address is 551 Buckchase in Gwynn Island.
