Explore San Antonio’s Riverwalk

August 10, 2017

By Mary West

San Antonio, a fantastic tourist destination, offers visitors the sights and sounds of Mexico as well as the Wild West. The top attraction, the Riverwalk, was once called “the American Venice” by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Ernie Pyle. Plan a stay at Blazing Star RV Resort, so you can explore this vibrantly interesting area.

The lush landscapes that surround the gently winding pathways of the Riverwalk make it a pleasant place for strolling, people watching and shopping. Live music venues present entertainment, and eateries offer TexMex, barbeque and contemporary southwestern cuisine.

Upcoming Riverwalk Events

The area hosts events throughout the year, and the following ones are scheduled for the next few weeks:

  • Every Friday night until October 1, a free concert will be held at the Tower of the Americas.
  • Unique home, garden and wardrobe items can be found at the Labor Day Artisan Show on September 1 to 4.

Riverwalk Cruises

The area is quite large, so taking a cruise is a good way to get an overview and find spots that you want to revisit. A narrated cruise, which runs 35 minutes, will provide lots of information. For something special, book a dinner cruise, an excursion catered by one of the great local restaurants.

Blazing Star RV Resort

One of the nicest perks of our San Antonio RV park is a shuttle service that gives free rides to SeaWorld during the peak season. In addition, our staff will be happy to answer questions about the myriad of things to see and do in the city, such as touring historical attractions like The Alamo and visiting Six Flags.
