On April 8, the local park will host a Bird and Wildlife Celebration. It will include a live animal program and children’s games, along with bird walks and birdhouse building. Admission is $3 per vehicle.
The park is an ideal place for a stroll down a nature trail or picnic any day of the week. The setting of stately oaks and pine flatwoods is hard to beat. When you come, stop at the Visitor Center to learn about the Second Seminole War of 1835.
Lovely spring-fed Lake Panasoffke is only a short drive from Bushnell. Its shimmering water beckons anglers to fish for crappie through the winter and spring, as well as bass later when spawning season approaches. The area also has 18 miles of trails for hiking, biking and birdwatching.
