Plan an escape to Lake Avenue RV Resort in Prince Edward County, an area where you can explore white dune beaches, enjoy entertainment at a theatre or go antiquing. The community has a rich assortment of things to do that even includes visiting local farms and taking in a cooking lesson. Here are some summer events to put on your calendar.

Wintergarten Orchestra Concert

On June 11 at 8 p.m., the Wintergarten Orchestra will perform at the historic Regent Theatre, which was once a setting for Mary Pickford movies. You can hear classics from the pre-swing era, as the 11-piece ensemble plays music from the 1920s and 1930s. The price of tickets is $29.

Tale of a Town

Prince Edward County is home to the Festival Players, a local group of thespians who present theatrical productions to the community. Their next play, “Tale of a Town,” will be held at Mount Tabor Playhouse on July 6 through 17.

Prince Edward County Quilt Show

Many people who have embraced the RV lifestyle have become interested in the craft of quilting. The Prince Edward County Quilt Show, scheduled for July 9 at the Essroc Arena in Wellington, will be an opportunity to shop, talk to artists and watch demonstrations. Admission is $6.
