The beautiful Coachella Valley, which is home to Indian Wells RV Resort, has outdoor markets that are more than farmers’ markets. They’re nice places to get out and about while soaking up local culture. Be sure and visit the ones below.
Indio Open Air Market
Every Wednesday and Saturday, the Indio Open Air Market is held at the Riverside County Fairgrounds, the architecture of which looks like it could be in a city from Morocco. Shoppers can pick up produce and other merchandise as they enjoy the sunset and moonrise. It’s a lovely area to gather with friends to eat. Hours are from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and the address is 46350 Arabia Street in Indio.
College of the Desert Fair
An outdoor market with views of mountains and date palms, the College of the Desert Fair is open on Saturdays and Sundays. It features 340 vendors of produce, arts and crafts. Current hours are from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the address is 43-500 Monterey Avenue in Palm Desert.
Palm Springs International Film Festival
Between January 2 and 15, more than 135,000 movie buffs will descend on Palm Springs for the International Film Festival. The gala will feature screenings of 180 films from 60 countries, as well as special events and receptions. Attendees can purchase tickets to individual films or opt for the package called “dinner and a movie.”
The social calendar at our Palm Springs RV park is filled to the brim with activities such as pancake breakfasts, line dancing, bingo, shuffleboard, quilting, poker, bridge and more. There is never a dull moment here.
