Blueberry Hill RV Resort in Bushnell is only an hour’s drive from the attractions, shopping and restaurants of Orlando and Tampa. Yet the community offers enjoyable things to do as well.
Florida International Teaching Zoo
A tour of the Florida International Teaching Zoo is entertaining and educational. While the attraction is a little out of the way, it is well worth a visit. Perhaps it is the passion of the tour director that makes the information imparted so interesting. You will learn much about the animals and their habitats, along with the challenges facing wildlife and how zoos like this one benefit their future.
Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $6 for children. It is open on Saturday afternoons from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and tours begin on the hour. The address is 4258 SW 52nd Ter in Bushnell.
Florida National Cemetery
Moving and beautiful, the Florida National Cemetery is truly hallowed ground. It features a pathway of memorials that commemorate America’s veterans, most of which were involved in 20th century conflicts. A visit here is a sobering reminder that freedom is not free. Your heart will be filled with thankfulness for the selfless heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice to keep our country safe.
The cemetery is open daily from sunrise to sunset. You’ll find it at 6502 S.W. 102nd Avenue in Bushnell.
