Willowood RV Resort is located in Amherstburg, a town of historic attractions and considerable natural beauty. Noteworthy community events coming up include a Canada Day celebration and Victorian Tea at a local museum.

Canada Day and Ice Cream Festival

Celebrate Canada Day on July 1 at Fort Malden National Historic Site. Activities will include live entertainment followed by a fireworks display along the Detroit River. The Ice Cream Festival, an event that includes face painting and balloons, will be held at Toddy Jones Park.

Park House Museum

Built in the 1790s, the Park House Museum is an example of Pièce sur Pièce log construction. The Loyalists & Fur Trade Exhibit as well as the Victorian Home Exhibit are open year-round. In addition, a current temporary exhibit involves flappers, speakeasies and other aspects of life in Amherstburg in the 1920s. Admission is $3 to $4.

An extra nice time to visit the museum will be June 18, when you can enjoy a Victorian Tea. You’ll feel oh-so-genteel while sipping bracing cups of tea and eating pastries and finger sandwiches served from delicate china. The tea fee is $13, and you can choose from the first seating at noon or the second seating at 1:30 p.m.
