Come swim and dive in Gulliver’s Lake RV Resort, which has a sparkling clean body of water fed by artesian wells. It lies in a community that will host two major events in the coming weeks. Don’t miss them!
Canada’s Largest Ribfest
Few people can resist the savory aroma of barbecued ribs. If you’re an aficionado of the food, you’ll want to make plans to attend Canada’s Largest Ribfest on September 1 to 4 in nearby Burlington. Some of the vendors come as far from the southern states, where barbecue is very popular. The price is $24 for a full rack and less for smaller portions. All proceeds from the event go to charity.
Not a ribs fan? No problem because other foods will be available such as hot dogs, baked potatoes, ice cream and donuts.
Yet the affair involves more than food. Attendees will be treated to an array of free concerts by talented bands.
Hours are from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday through Sunday and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday. The location is Spencer Smith Park at 1400 Lakeshore Road in Burlington.
Rockton World’s Fair
Mark your calendar for October 6 to 9, the dates of the Rockton World’s Fair. In addition to rides and food, the event will feature many exhibitions, including quilts, Christmas items, crafts, photography, woodcarving and cooking.
Admission is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and $7 for children. Hours are 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday. The address is 812 Old Hwy 8 in Rockton.
