Prince Edward County Walleye Fishing Derby Weekend: Best Fishing in Ontario

Guests at Lake Avenue Sun RV Resort relax on 28 acres of secluded parkland with 800 feet of shoreline on beautiful East Lake with great walleye, bass and pike fishing. Anglers can practice here for the many fishing tournaments on the bigger lakes. The first weekend of May provides the perfect opportunity for great fishing, great prizes and support of a worthy cause. The Kiwanis Walleye World Fishing Weekend is a massive fundraising effort by the Trenton Kiwanis Club to help raise money for the community.

Picton Fair Takes You Back to the Good Ol’ Days

Let’s start with a trip back in time to days when old country fairs were the social event of the year for rural families. The Picton Fall Fair recalls a simpler time in history when pie-baking and 4H events highlighted the efforts of individuals in the community and were awarded with a simple Blue Ribbon. The 179th Picton Fair has the traditional Bake-offs, 4H contests, even a Dog “Mutt” Show. As in the “olden days” you can attend Championship Wrestling, Tractor Pulls, and a modern version, the Lawn Tractor Pull. And they’ve added some newer events. When was the last time you went to a Demolition Derby? Now’s your chance. Walk the Midway, while eating corn dogs and candy apples, and while your at it, check out the Crystal Palace (pictured) which was built in 1890. This exhibition hall is the only one of its kind left in North America.
